Harvest Information

The 2024 vintage began with a cool, wet winter in 2023, ensuring ample water reserves for the growing season. Warm, dry and windy conditions followed, with irrigation proving essential in January to maintain vine balance. While yields were lower than average, the fruit quality was exceptional, delivering excellent concentration and purity of flavour.

Winemaking

The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from healthy, well-maintained vineyards across
Franschhoek, each block showcasing a distinctive terroir. North-facing sites contribute dark fruit intensity, earthy depth and subtle tobacco notes, while cooler south-facing slopes offer red fruit brightness, firmer tannins, and lifted acidity. Together, these components create a layered expression of Franschhoek Cabernet that reflects the diversity and quality of the region.

Winemaker's Note

The grapes were destemmed and kept as whole berries to preserve fresh fruit character before fermentation in stainless steel tanks with three punch-downs per day for optimal extraction. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was gently pressed and transferred to oak barrels, 20% of which were new, for 12 months

Cellaring

Accessible now but has an ageing potential of between 10 – 15 years.
